Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist-PET/CT Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. In this role, you will perform Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans and Computed Tomography (CT) scans, to assist in accurate diagnosis and patient care. Your expertise will ensure the safe operation of specialized imaging equipment, adherence to radiation safety protocols, and compassionate patient interaction. Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for PET/CT scans, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Implement radiation safety procedures diligently to protect patients, staff, and yourself during all imaging processes
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals via IV insertion following aseptic techniques and medical safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret physiological data, ensuring accurate imaging results for diagnosis
- Manage picture archiving communication systems (PACS) for image storage and retrieval
- Ensure compliance with all radiation safety protocols and maintain calibration of imaging equipment in accordance with regulatory standards
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic radiology principles to support effective patient care
- Ability to lift a min. of 50 lbs
Skills
- Strong understanding of radiation safety procedures and implementing radiation protection protocols
- Skilled in IV insertion techniques with a focus on aseptic technique to ensure patient safety during radiopharmaceutical administration
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods
- Ability to interpret imaging results accurately while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for managing digital images efficiently
