Staff Accountant – The Pesce Network (Dunkin' & Jimmy John's Franchise Group)
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of multiple Dunkin' and Jimmy John's franchise locations. This is an in-office position with both full-time (40 hours per week) and part-time (minimum of 25 hours per week) opportunities available. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable, including invoice entry and bill payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accrual-based accounting records.
- Audit payroll for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
- Generate financial reports for management.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Handle multiple priorities while adapting quickly to changing business needs.
- Provide accounting support for multiple franchise locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles.
- Experience with accounts payable, invoice processing, bank reconciliations, journal entries, payroll auditing, and general ledger maintenance.
- Experience preparing financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Knowledge of month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and transition between a variety of accounting responsibilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work on-site in an office environment; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
