Job Title: Caregiver (Home Care)
Location: Port Orchard
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports to: Care Coordinator / Agency Administrator
Pay scale: $25/hr - $27/hr
Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team in providing high-quality, personalized care to clients in their homes. As a caregiver, you will play an essential role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by offering support with daily activities, personal care, and companionship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including:
- Bathing, grooming, dressing
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Transferring and mobility support
- Provide companionship by engaging in games, puzzles or other activities that provide social and emotional support and emotional support
- Perform light housekeeping including basic cleaning, laundry, and organizing and meal preparation
- Assist with medication reminders
- Support client safety and report changes in condition to supervisor
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided
- Follow all agency policies and adhere to Washington State Department of Health (DOH) and DSHS regulations
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have one of the following Washington State credentials:
- Certified Home Care Aide (HCA)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- OR willing to complete Home Care Aide certification within 200 days of hire (per WA State law)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with access to a fully insured personal vehicle
- TB Clearance or Chest X-Ray
- Ability to pass:
- Washington State background check (WAC 388-113)
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior caregiving experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with DSHS clients, Medicaid, or LTC settings
- Multi lingual a plus
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
