Position Overview
The PRN Vision Therapist provides vision rehabilitation services to patients experiencing visual deficits related to traumatic brain injuries, concussions, neurological disorders, and developmental visual dysfunctions. The Vision Therapist collaborates with optometrists, ophthalmologists, neurologists, and rehabilitation professionals to improve visual performance, ocular motor function, visual processing, and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of visual function, tracking, convergence, accommodation, visual processing, and ocular motor skills.
- Implement individualized vision therapy treatment plans prescribed by the supervising provider.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve visual performance and functional abilities.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy programs as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive rehabilitation plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment records.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Vision Science, Psychology, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Science, Occupational Therapy, or related healthcare field required.
- Certification in Vision Therapy.
- Vestibular rehabilitation training required.
- COVT (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist) preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
