Position OverviewThe Assistant Trainer supports the delivery of high-quality strength and conditioning programs for athletes and active individuals at The Performance Barn Training. This role is hands-on and performance-focused, assisting Lead Trainers in session execution, athlete supervision, program implementation, and facility operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and committed to athlete development and professional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Coaching SupportAssist Lead Trainers during group and individual training sessions.Coach proper exercise technique, movement mechanics, and safety protocols.Monitor athlete performance, effort, and adherence to programming.Provide clear cues, encouragement, and corrections during sessions.Support warm-ups, cooldowns, mobility work, and recovery protocols.Athlete ManagementBuild positive relationships with athletes, members, and parents.Maintain a professional, motivating, and disciplined training environment.Facility & OperationsSet up and break down equipment before and after sessions.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the training floor.Support special events, testing days, camps, or clinics as needed.Professional DevelopmentDemonstrate a willingness to learn the Performance Barn training system.Accept feedback from Lead Trainers and management.Pursue ongoing education in strength & conditioning, movement, and coaching.QualificationsRequiredBackground in athletics, exercise science, kinesiology, or related field (degree in progress or completed preferred).Prior experience in a gym, athletic facility, or team training environment.Strong communication skills and ability to coach athletes of varying ages and abilities.High level of professionalism, punctuality, and work ethic.PreferredStrength & Conditioning certification (CSCS, CSCCa, NASM, or similar).Experience working with youth, high school, or collegiate athletes.Familiarity with barbell training, sprint mechanics, and foundational movement patterns.Physical RequirementsAbility to demonstrate exercises and movements.Ability to lift and move training equipment (up to ~50 lbs).Ability to stand, coach, and move actively for extended periods.Compensation & GrowthCompetitive hourly or salaried compensation based on experience.Opportunity for advancement to Lead Trainer roles.Mentorship, continuing education, and long-term career development within the organization.Company DescriptionPerformance Barn Training is a high-performance strength and conditioning facility built on discipline, accountability, and results.
