Job Description:
This role is instrumental in implementing and advancing harm reduction initiatives that prioritize the health, safety, and dignity of individuals affected by substance use. This person will have experience in harm reduction practices, community outreach, and program development within the nonprofit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation:
- Implement and evaluate harm reduction programs and services that align with the foundation’s mission and strategic goals.
- Implement evidence-based strategies to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases, overdose prevention, safer substance use practices, and other harm reduction interventions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, community partners, and individuals with lived experience to ensure programs are responsive to community needs.
Client Support and Advocacy:
- Provide direct services and support to individuals affected by substance use, including referrals to healthcare, social services, and other resources.
- Advocate for the rights and dignity of individuals who use substances, challenging stigma and discrimination.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities, participant outcomes, and service utilization.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating program impact and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of harm reduction principles, evidence-based practices, and current trends in substance use treatment and prevention.
- Experience in program implementation, and evaluation within a nonprofit or community-based organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Required: Valid Driver’s License
