What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Buyer position at The People Co.?
Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is looking to bring on board a Senior Buyer to purchase materials and supplies for their manufacturing operation in the Brentwood, NY region.
What you will do in this role:
- Purchasing raw materials, equipment and other supplies and processing all purchase orders through the ERP System.
- Understanding inventory levels based on usage, forecast and other analytical ranges.
- Ensuring that lead time specifications, quantity counts and cost are all accurate.
- Contacting vendors to handle any issues related to out of spec product, delayed orders and incorrect inventory counts.
- Qualifying new suppliers to meet the organizations ever changing business needs.
- Performing invoice approval and reconciling supplier information.
What you will bring to the role:
- Experience purchasing raw materials within a food/CPG/pharmaceutical manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of inventory, supplier relationships and supply chain.
- Strong technical experience and skills within MS Excel and ERP.
