ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities
- Anticipate guest needs and provide personalized recommendations based on menu offerings.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests, and concerns, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
- Foster a welcoming environment that reflects the service standards and culture of Scholar Hotels.
Beverage and Food Preparation
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare and serve pastries, sandwiches, and grab-and-go food items while maintaining quality, freshness, and presentation standards.
- Operate espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, blenders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor product quality and ensure consistency in beverage preparation.
Cash Handling and Café Operations
- Accurately process cash, credit card, mobile payment, and room charge transactions.
- Balance cash drawer and follow established cash handling procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including preparing workstations, stocking products, and securing equipment.
- Restock food, beverages, paper products, and supplies throughout the shift to maintain efficient operations.
- Notify management of inventory shortages, equipment concerns, or maintenance needs.
Food Safety and Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area at all times.
- Clean and sanitize espresso machines, brewing equipment, countertops, display cases, and food preparation areas.
- Follow all company policies, health department regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles and monitor expiration dates to maintain product freshness.
Sales and Revenue Generation
- Promote featured beverages, seasonal offerings, and food items through suggestive selling techniques.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge to enhance the guest experience and maximize café revenue.
- Assist in merchandising displays to maintain an attractive and inviting café environment.
Teamwork and Communication
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding guest concerns, inventory needs, equipment issues, and operational updates.
- Support other Food & Beverage outlets or hotel departments as business needs require.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
General Responsibilities
