North Carolina attorney needed for an amazing law firm to practice in family law, estate planning and administration. Must have North Carolina Bar license and at least Zero to Three (3 ) years of law experience. Competitive salary and benefits. Ideal candidate is able to work within a team environment and has a GREAT attitude. Position is immediately available. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Handle and manage caseload
- Able to competently engage in Team Meetings to discuss strategy for legal action
- Prepare pleadings, discovery, demands, and responses
- Independently handle depositions, mediation, hearings, and anything else that comes up
- Client relationship skills including the ability to lead in-person client meetings
- Prepare sophisticated estate planning documents including trusts, wills, and powers of attorney
- The ability to handle the administration of estates, including probate filings, asset transfer documentation, and account reconciliations
- Desire and ability to "take ownership" of the files and move them through the process thoroughly, efficiently, and thoughtfully
- Strong work ethic and commitment to clients to let each client feel as if they are the only client of the firm
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 0 - 3 years of continuous, recent legal experience in the state of North Carolina
- Understand procedures and the timing and deadlines of discovery and litigation
- Experience in preparing and responding to discovery
- Experience in taking and defending depositions
- Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking, research, and writing skills
- Experience in drafting various forms of motions and pleadings
- Excellent negotiation and mediation skills
- Knowledge of estate planning processes and probate matters
- Experience in preparing and managing documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Recognition that this is a service industry; commitment to exceptional customer service
- Excellent attention to detail
