Job Overview: 

We are currently looking for a full-time Capture Manager to join our team.  The ideal candidate will reside in the National Capital Area and be willing to work in a hybrid capacity – telework and on client-sites as needed. We are considering full-time W2 employees and independent consultants.

Job Summary:  

The Capture Manager is responsible for leading the pursuit of strategic federal government opportunities for defense, civil, health and/or intelligence customers. Experience leading captures within one or more of the following areas is required: IT, engineering, research & development, science, professional services, management consulting, and/or emerging technologies. The Capture Manager will engage after an opportunity is qualified, and a bid decision is made, through the final submission of the proposal. As required, the Capture Manager will lead the responses to post-proposal questions, ENs and FPR from the government to help ensure the bid is not lost during source selection. The capture manager is expected to provide strategic direction to increase win probability at every stage of the engagement.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Create, communicate, and execute an opportunity-specific capture plan 
• Regularly brief senior leadership on the health of the capture 
• Escalate any resource needs, deficiencies, or problems in a timely manner 
• Clearly communicate the capture plan to the team  
• Hold the capture team accountable for timely delivery of tasks and documentation 
• Lead teaming efforts including strategies, discussions, negotiation of teaming agreements 
• Drive to the winning solution —closely collaborating with the solution architects, subject matter experts, operations, and program management team 
• Drive to the winning price —closely collaborating with team members from program management, operations, pricing, contracts, competitive intelligence, price-to-win, and pricing strategy 
• Drive the production of a compelling, compliant, and differentiated proposal response encompassing the win themes and discriminators — closely collaborating with the proposal manager, volume leads, writers, and graphics artists.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Knowledge of the BD life cycle (BD, capture, and proposals) and the federal procurement system 
• Knowledge of various acquisition strategies and contract types 
• Proven experience and comfort communicating with customers and leaders at all levels 
• Ability to anticipate risk proactively and mitigate early 
• Excellent leadership and management skills 
• Well-honed verbal and written communication skills 
• Collaborative and works well with others in a team setting 
• Excellent persuasion and negotiation abilities 

Experience 

• Minimum of 5 years of capture management relevant experience within the industry 
• Demonstrated record of successful capture management experience

Salary Range (full-time W2) dependent on numerous factors: $90,000 - $180,000
