The Peaks Resort and Spa located in beautiful Telluride, Colorado is looking for a Bartender to join our team providing world class service and an extraordinary experience for our guests.
Position Summary: Responsible for providing friendly, attentive, and timely beverage service to guests while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol service. This role combines exceptional customer service, expert knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits, and strict adherence to all health, safety, and liquor laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Approach all guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times.
· Maintain regular attendance and flexibility according to the resort’s scheduling needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
· Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag while on duty.
· Comply fully with all resort policies, safety standards, and federal/state liquor laws.
· Keep the bar and all work areas clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift; complete opening/closing side-work and daily cleaning checklists.
· Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus (including cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options), POS system, hotel services, and local area information.
· Greet guests promptly, take accurate orders, make recommendations, prepare and serve beverages efficiently, and ensure drinks are kept at least ¾ full.
· Handle cash and process payments honestly and accurately.
· Provide excellent guest service by anticipating needs, resolving issues calmly using good judgment, and assisting servers or other team members as needed.
· Work efficiently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, follow directions thoroughly, and communicate any problems, overtime, or concerns immediately to management.
· Assist with bussing, running beverages/food, pre-bussing tables, and other support duties when required.
· Answer phones and perform all duties in a calm, organized, and professional manner even during high-volume periods.
· Position requires ability to fulfill flexible scheduling requirements including but not limited to nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
· Current ServSafe Alcohol (Required), TIPS training (nice to have)
· Expert knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and craft beer
· Excellent communication, multitasking, and guest-service skills
· Effective listening skills, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
· Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs. (cases, kegs, ice)
· Proficiency with modern POS systems and basic math/cash handling
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and organized
· Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
Education and/or Experience:
· High School diploma or GED and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
· 1–3 years of high-volume bartending experience; luxury resort or fine-dining experience strongly preferred
· Must be a minimum of 21 years of age

While performing the duties of this Job, the noise level is moderate to high during peak periods. Although temperature controlled the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. Activity level typically requires a high level of standing/walking per shift, occasional lifting and bending. Employee should be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is between $13.00- $15.00 per hour tips
