We are The Patel Comics, a passionate independent studio dedicated to reimagining Indian mythology through powerful, modern storytelling. Our mission is to bring ancient legends, gods, heroes, and epic tales to life in bold, visually stunning comic book series for digital platforms and print. We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Comic Book Artist Intern who shares our love for Indian mythology and wants to help shape the visual world of our stories.
Responsibilities
- Create high-quality comic book pages, including penciling, inking, coloring, and background work.
- Design dynamic character illustrations, action sequences, and mythological scenes inspired by Indian epics and folklore.
- Maintain visual consistency across characters, environments, and storytelling sequences.
- Collaborate closely with writers and the creative team to translate scripts into compelling sequential art.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and help develop unique visual styles for gods, demons, warriors, and mystical realms.
- Assist in preparing final pages for digital release and potential print publication.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Illustration, Comic Art, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Strong portfolio showcasing sequential art, character design, and storytelling abilities.
- Solid understanding of anatomy, perspective, composition, and dynamic action.
- Proficiency in digital art tools such as Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, or Procreate.
- Genuine interest and knowledge of Indian mythology (Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas, regional folklore, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Ability to take direction while also bringing creative ideas to the table.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience with comic book layouts, paneling, or page composition.
- Familiarity with Indian art traditions and how to blend them with contemporary comic/manga/webtoon styles.
- Passion for mythology-driven storytelling and visual world-building.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
