Job Summary
Join our vibrant balloon store team as a Part Time Balloon Store Associate! In this energetic role, you will be the cheerful face of our store, helping customers select the perfect balloons and party supplies while crafting visually stunning balloon arrangements to help celebrate their special life events. This role blends customer service, retail sales, and manual creativity. No prior balloon experience required, as comprehensive hands-on training will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet guests warmly and assist them in selecting the perfect balloon colors, sizes, and event themes with enthusiasm and expert product knowledge
- Provide exceptional customer service with professionalism and friendly communication skills
- Take accurate custom orders both in person and over the phone.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle payment transactions accurately.
- Upsell additional products such as themed decorations or party favors to enhance customer celebrations
Balloon Production & Artistry
- Inflate, tie, and arrange latex and foil balloons safely using helium and air inflators.
- Create basic balloon bouquets, centerpieces, and column structures based on store guides and client requests.
- Handle helium tanks responsibly while adhering to all corporate safety protocols.
Store Maintenance & Inventory
- Ensure the store is clean, inviting, and well-maintained at all times
- Support tracking of popular balloon styles, weights, and ribbons to notify management when supplies run low
- Receive stock deliveries, stock shelves and organize merchandise
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Friendly and outgoing personality with a passion for helping people celebrate milestones.
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening capabilities
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity to efficiently tie and twist balloons.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and safely lift supply boxes up to 25 pounds.
- Strong punctuality and reliable transportation to ensure the store opens on schedule.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in retail sales, balloon/floral design, or a customer service environment.
- A creative eye or an interest in arts, crafts, or party planning.
