We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer with experience in Civil Engineering AND/OR Mechanical Design to support engineering, design, manufacturing, and operational initiatives within the steel industry. This role will contribute to projects involving heavy industrial equipment, structural systems, plant infrastructure, process improvements, and engineered steel products.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical problem-solving abilities and experience working in industrial, manufacturing, metals, or steel-related environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and support engineering projects related to steel manufacturing operations, plant systems, equipment, or structural applications
- Develop and review mechanical designs, layouts, drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Support civil/structural engineering needs, including foundations, industrial structures, material handling systems, and facility upgrades
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, production, and project management teams to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Assist in equipment modifications, process optimization, and capital improvement projects
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and engineering documentation
- Ensure designs and projects comply with applicable engineering standards, OSHA requirements, and industry regulations
- Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for operational or mechanical issues
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders on engineering initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related engineering discipline
- 2 years of engineering experience in steel, metals, heavy industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments
- Experience with mechanical design, structural systems, industrial equipment, or plant engineering
- Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and industrial plans
