An industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Director, Foundry Operations to lead a complex foundry business in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the full foundry operation, including manufacturing, engineering, technical services, finance, supply chain, customer service, and commercial growth. The Director will be accountable for operational performance, full P&L results, safety, union relations, capital planning, and long-term modernization of the foundry.
The right candidate will bring strong manufacturing leadership experience, financial discipline, and the ability to lead both operational and technical teams in a heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all foundry operations, including melting, molding, core making, pouring, finishing, maintenance, and metallurgy.
• Drive safety, quality, throughput, scrap reduction, labor efficiency, and equipment reliability.
• Own full P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Lead capital planning and modernization of equipment and foundry capabilities.
• Improve production scheduling, materials flow, capacity planning, and delivery performance.
• Develop and lead high-performing operational and technical teams.
• Partner with HR on union relations, negotiations, grievances, and labor-management matters.
• Build strong customer relationships and support technical issue resolution.
• Support profitable third-party industrial business growth, pricing, quoting, and commercial decisions.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, metallurgy, business, or a related field.
• 10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Foundry, metal casting, primary metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Senior leadership experience in a plant, site, business unit, or manufacturing operations environment.
• Full P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning experience.
• Lean, continuous improvement, and operational excellence experience.
• Proven safety leadership.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Union manufacturing experience, including labor-management relations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• MBA, master’s degree, or advanced technical degree.
• Metallurgy or precision casting experience.
• Experience growing third-party or B2B industrial sales.
• Multi-site or enterprise leadership experience.
Compensation
Target compensation $180,000 all-in, plus company car.
