Job Responsibilities:
- Co-teach 4 classes during the camp day to campers ages 7-15, including Digital Art, Computer Animation, and Stop Motion
- Create and execute Festival Period (free-choice) offerings 1-2x per week
- Collaborate with co-teachers, when applicable, before, during, and after lessons to ensure differentiated instruction, healthy classroom management, and a positive camper experience
- Prepare for and participate in Festival Day (final day of camp) by getting students ready for performances, helping students complete their visual art work, contributing to art show setup, and/or participating in a production role for a performance
- Greet campers upon morning arrival and assist with daily attendance
- Co-host one camper performance event (a “Noontime Show”) throughout the summer
- Participate positively in Staff Orientation (6/25 & 6/26, 9am-4pm), all-camp Family Potluck Dinner (7/15/26, 6-8pm), and end-of-summer-clean-up day (8/1/26, 9am-3pm)
- Foster social-emotional learning by modeling empathy, inclusion, and positive
- Create and maintain a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all campers
- Support campers in building friendships, problem-solving, and developing confidence and
- Communicate effectively with fellow counselors, Department Heads, and CAAP Administrators to ensure a cohesive camp experience
- Supervise campers to ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Contribute to the overall spirit and community of Creative Arts at Park through enthusiasm,
- Positively represent The Park School and its Summer Programs at all times
- Meet the essential expectations of Creative Arts at Park and The Park School as laid out in the
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Prior teaching experience with children, ideally within an arts and/or camp community
- Familiarity with Procreate,Procreate Dreams, Stop Motion apps and Blender software strongly preferred
- All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of required background checks, including CORI, SORI, and fingerprint-based criminal history reports, in accordance with Massachusetts law and school policy
- Ability to commit to the full 5-week camp schedule, plus orientation and clean up day on the Saturday after the last day of camp
- Work to support a culturally diverse community, including diversity of race, ethnicity,
- Communicate effectively with the Creative Arts at Park Administration Team
- Demonstrate an ability to work on a team to manage the social-emotional learning of all campers within the
- Teach with compassion, patience, and flexibility
- Must be able to sit and stand for 30 minutes at a time
- The ability to position oneself (e.g., stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down) around the classroom for instruction and access to supplies
- Must be able to lift 20lbs at a time for classroom setup and breakdown
