Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Navigator to serve as a vital link between families, community resources, and child care programs. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for families, child care providers, and community partners by connecting individuals to child care services, supporting provider development, and strengthening the local child care system. This role focuses on providing referrals, provider recruitment and retention, training delivery, data management, and community engagement to improve access to high-quality child care. Duties
- Child Care Referrals - Provide timely and accurate referrals to families seeking child care services, maintain up-to-date knowledge of available child care providers and openings and support families in navigating eligibility requirements, subsidies, and enrollment processes
- Recruitment & Retention - Recruit new child care providers to increase supply, with an emphasis on underserved areas; support retention of existing providers through ongoing communication, resources, and problem-solving; collaborate with community partners to promote child care careers; and design, organize and facilitate events to promote child care provider recruitment
- Data Management - Collect, maintain, and analyze program and provider data to ensure accuracy and compliance; track referrals, provider participation, and training outcomes; and prepare reports and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts
- Outreach & Community Engagement - Conduct outreach to families, providers, and community organizations to promote child care services; represent the organization at community events, meetings, and resource fairs; and build and maintain partnerships with local agencies, schools, and stakeholders
- Child Care Development Support - Assist Child Care Development Lead with activities related to Pre-Licensing Consultation and Child Care Certification; serve as back-up Child Care Certifier; offer technical assistance and connect individuals with needed resources; and maintain accurate records of communications and resources provided
- Child Care Training - Coordinate and/or facilitate CPR and First Aid trainings for child care providers; maintain accurate training records and documentation; assist in planning and facilitate additional funded professional development opportunities; and support providers in accessing scholarships, grants, or training funds
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of child care systems, licensing, and regulations preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an early childhood program
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with data tracking systems and basic reporting
- Ability to engage diverse communities with cultural responsiveness
