Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated baker to join our team! In this role, you will join a team of culinary career minded professionals who take great pride in their work delivering known customer favorites to all of our beloved regulars as well as continuing to create new and exciting items. This is a position that could offer some scheduling flexibility but would include some early morning ”bakers” hours. Bakers hours are good for those who have a lot to fit into one day whether because of school and class scheduling or family requirements. This is also a physically demanding position that requires standing and lifting. We use 80 quart mixers and require large batches to be mixed and handled daily. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual eager to continue in a culinary career with room to grow and learn.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, bulk doughs, yeast and laminated doughs, quick doughs and frostings.
- Package finished products carefully to preserve freshness and presentation for retail or catering purposes.
- Assist in food production processes, including mixing, baking, and assembling items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation standards in all kitchen activities.
- Support catering events by preparing menu items and ensuring timely delivery of orders.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations while providing excellent customer service when interacting with clients or guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in baking or pastry arts within a commercial kitchen or bakery environment.
- Strong skills in food preparation, food handling, and kitchen safety practices.
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience with food packaging, food production processes
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable; culinary school training is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
