JOB SUMMARY:
Readily opens, maintains and operates and closes down towel stand area, provides towel service to arriving guests, scans room keys for verification, Provides warm greeting and fond farewells to all guests. Organizes towel inventory and operates Gelato Cart.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures and standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
- Complete opening side work:
- Bring 2 full bins of clean towels from Laundry to the towel stand
- Set up water station (requisition cups from the storeroom as needed)
- Turn on fans
- Remove “towel stand closed” sign
- Maintain towel stand by:
- Always having plenty of clean towels
- Taking dirty towels to Laundry when needed
- Keeping the water and ice full in the dispenser.
- Cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas; rectify any deficiencies.
- Ensure Toast system are powered on and working correctly.
- Complete closing side work:
- Place “towel stand closed” sign in front of towel stand.
- Empty water dispensers and take to the kitchen to be cleaned.
- Turn off fans.
- Wipe down counter.
- Clean and sanitize Gelato Cart. Unplug Gelato Cart.
- Run closing Toast reports and deliver to the Tiki Bar.
- Take dirty towel bin to Laundry, leaving 1 empty bin for residual dirty towels that are turned in from that point until the closing of the bar.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Notice any issues, concerns, repairs needed and submit to Manager and or Supervisor.
- Assist in cleanliness of Pool area when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
- High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
- Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
- Provide legible communication and directions.
- Compute basic arithmetic.
Ability to:
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Prioritize, organize, and follow up.
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
- Follow directions thoroughly.
- Understand guest’s service needs.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position.
- Previous guest relations training.
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sale system.
- Fluency in a second language, preferably.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Continuous standing, walking, and the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 10–12 hours per shift)
- Frequent movement across uneven and wet surfaces (pool deck, sand, outdoor areas)
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of towels, carts, chairs, and equipment up to 25–50 pounds unassisted, including pushing/pulling carts requiring 25–50 pounds of force
- Ability to transport towel carts requiring sustained physical effort
- Repetitive physical movements including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching (minimum 2 feet), and continuous use of hands and arms
- Ability to maintain balance and coordination on wet or slippery surfaces
- Continuous exposure to outdoor environmental conditions (heat, humidity, sun, wind, and rain) and pool chemicals
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as folding, stocking, and distributing towels
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers
- Requires close and distance vision and hearing ability for safe and effective operations
