Assistant to the Director
of
Activities & Entertainment
The #1 Priority of this position is…
To assist the Activities & Entertainment Director in executing the residents’ activity program, lead group activities and visit residents to complete their Activity Profile.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in decorating the building for all parties, holidays and special events.
- Follow the daily activities schedule and carry-out the assigned planned activities and events.
- Maintain an ongoing inventory of departmental supplies and equipment.
- General housekeeping duties in activity areas and supply closets.
- Be aware of conditions that may interfere with the safety and well-being of residents while in activities.
- Assist the Director by interviewing residents based on their activities profile and input the information into the CRM.
Qualifications
- Experience in recreation setting preferred.
- Experience in party planning and carrying out social and recreational programs.
- Must be creative and have appropriate input in creating new activities for the program
- Performance experience is preferred, such as singing or dancing.
- Must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Spanish preferred.
- Must have basic knowledge of a variety of activities and exhibit the ability to give instructions to others.

- Exhibit an enthusiastic and friendly personality that has aptitude for working with a variety of people.
- Must be comfortable with working with older individuals and be able to motivate them in participating in the programs.
