Assistant Swim Team Coach

The PADONIA 30-acre campus located in Cockeysville includes Maryland’s largest swim club, top Baltimore caterers for weddings, mitzvahs, company picnics as well as celebrations, PADONIA Learning Center for Infants to Pre-K and PADONIA Summer Camps for ages 4 to 13
Assistant Swim Team Coach
The Assistant Swim Team Coach will be responsible for working with children ages 4-18 to enhance their swimming skills and prepare swimmers for recreational meets. This person will assist in analyzing and evaluation swimmers, in a family-fun and safe environment, prepare and implement training programs, teach established and new techniques, and instruct swimmers on safety. The Assistant Swim Team Coach will promote a competitive and fun summer program giving all swimmers the opportunity to improve their strokes and team spirit throughout the season. This person will report to the Head Swim Team Coach.
Responsibilities:
- Create a fun and engaging environment;
- Assist and participate in team events, helping to create a fun and rallying environment;
- Assist in determining ability and skill level of approximately 150 swimmers;
- Assist with training programs and planning and implementing practices that focus on technique, stroke placement, speed, and form;
- Educate swimmers on various established and new techniques and styles or strokes and appropriate competitive behaviors;
- Teach and perfect skills like flip turns, kicks, floating, breath control, endurance, and speed;
- Educate swimmers on water safety and providing lifesaving training sessions;
- Assist in utilizing a variety of drills in order to improve stroke technique;
- Assist in monitoring and recording swimmer progress/times;
- Assist with setting training goals and objectives for teams as well as individual swimmers;
- Assist in creating swimmer entries and lineups for meets using approved league software;
- Know, understand, and follow league rules and procedures;
- Ensure the pool or training area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards;
- Report maintenance issues of pool equipment, facility, or grounds to Head Swim Team Coach;
- Follow and enforce the safety policies, rules, and regulations governing the conduct of patrons and staff using the facility;
- May assist with the implementation of special events and/or programs;
- Attend team events;
- Follow all safety and health guidelines as outlined by the company; and,
- All other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Prior swim team coaching or swim lesson experience (summer, club, school);
- Coaching and swim lesson experience preferred;
- Available May 31 through July 30 for practices Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings and/or Monday through Thursday afternoons and Saturday morning meets;
- Lifeguard and CPR certification preferred;
- Submit to pre-placement background check with favorable results;
- Ability to read and carry out instructions and recognize safety warnings;
- Work in outdoor weather conditions and in and out of pools;
- Ability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required;
- Ability to work overtime if needed and authorized;

Salary : $20
