Job Summary:

We are looking for a 1st Shift and 3rd Shift shift Bindery Machine Operators who will work in the set up and operation of various bindery equipment, particularly the Corona. They are responsible for maintaining all aspects of the equipment's performance and productivity as well as the quality of the finished products.

• Kolbus ZU832 24-pocket binder with 153P trimmer and automated packaging
• Muller Corona perfect binder with trimmer
• Mueller Martini 30-pocket Normbinder with Kolbus HD 3 knife trimmer
• Mueller Martini Bravo-T saddlestitcher with 6 pockets plus cover feeder
• Mueller Martini Amigo binder with Stahl VBF 3 knife trimmer
• Heidelberg ST300 saddlestitcher with 10 pockets plus a cover feeder
• 2 folders including buckle folders, 26 & 30"
• Mueller Martini collating/sidestitch binding line
• 3 Auto-Spacer Cutters
• Spine trimmer and shrinkwrap line for looseleaf products
• 3 Kugler high-speed punches
• Shrinkwrap systems
• Wire-O, plasticoil, plastic comb, GBC binding
• Tab cutting and Mylar reinforcing equipment
• Film laminating Steinmann
• Colibri UV Coater

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Review the schedule board for the next job assigned to the machine
• Acquire the job folder and reviewing it for specifications or special instructions that may impact the operation or setting up of the equipment
• Report unusual conditions or circumstances to the supervisor or the person in charge
• Set up assigned machines to job specifications as required and assume full responsibility for the equipment
• Follow routine procedures in the setting-up and in the operation of the equipment
• Record job information on load tags and time sheets
• Inspect products continuously to reduce waste, deciding to accept or reject the products
• Maintain quality and production records in a prescribed manner to provide useful information on the given job
• Adjust machine during production run as required for adherence to all quality and customer requirements
• Perform specified cleaning and maintenance on the equipment to ensure it runs at optimal performance
• May operate two or more machines simultaneously
• Delegate work assigned to crew with solid leadership skills
• Assisting in the training of lesser skilled workers
• Ensure the entire crew is adhering to plant safety rules
• Maintain good housekeeping in your work area
• Meet productivity goals
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• 3 years of previous bindery operator experience
• Excellent work attendance and punctuality
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure
• Strong mechanical skills
• Basic electronic and computer keyboard knowledge
• Ability to visually identify product defects
• Quality-conscious and production-oriented
• Good at problem solving and making decisions
• Motivated to do the best job possible
• Ability to work without supervision
• Attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret documents
• Able to stand, bend, and twist up to 8 hours/day
• Able to repetitiously lift up to 40 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
