Position Summary:
Join a small but dedicated and highly valued bus driver team at The Overlake School to provide a preeminent level of service to our families. Our students, parents and faculty community are driven by our Core Values, Vision, and Mission Statement of our school. Our motivated students strongly embrace these values, and therefore student management challenges are not an issue on our routes. This full-time 10-month role driving an established, fixed (non-bid route), split-shift student routes in the Seattle/UW/Kirkland/Bellevue/Sammamish/Renton area, as well as, occasional sports team trips.
Employment Type: Full-Time (6.5hrs/day) M-F, Hourly Non-Exempt
Compensation & Benefits
- $36.35/hr.
- 17 paid holidays, during the school year (including 8 days over winter break).

Important Note: Due to the academic calendar, this position includes unpaid breaks mirroring the school year calendar. Financial planning is necessary to account for unpaid breaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe boarding, transit, and drop-off of students; perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections
- Represent Overlake’s values through respectful, inclusive, and responsible conduct
- Communicate route changes, delays, or concerns to school staff and families
- Provide transportation for field trips, athletics, and school events as needed
- Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly to ensure safety and reliability
- Maintain required logs and documentation per state and federal regulations
- Participate in safety drills, training sessions, and professional development
- Be prepared to execute emergency procedures and basic first aid if necessary
