Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee complex projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Your expertise in construction management, project scheduling, and coordination will drive successful project outcomes and foster strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape large-scale construction initiatives and make a lasting impact on our community infrastructure. Highly preferred someone with experienced working on public bidding jobs; previous work with MTA, PANYNJ, NYC SCA, and/or other agencies.
Duties
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
- Develop detailed project schedules using Asite, Primavera, Kahua, or similar construction management software to coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to review blueprints, schematics, and contracts for accuracy and feasibility.
- Manage procurement processes including construction estimating, bid evaluations with HeavyBid or comparable tools, and contract negotiations.
- Oversee daily construction site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Utilize Civil 3D for site design review and coordinate site layout plans effectively.
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits and updates using Bluebeam for document management and communication.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on project status, risks, and issues; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders through project management software to streamline workflows and documentation.
- Conduct rigorous project coordination to resolve conflicts promptly and keep projects moving forward smoothly.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong understanding of heavy civil or commercial projects.
- Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or similar platforms like MS Project.
- Expertise in construction estimating processes using HeavyBid or comparable software.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and contract management.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, and other industry-standard tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and translate them into actionable site plans.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Effective project coordination skills that foster teamwork among diverse groups of professionals.
- Experience managing contracts, change orders, and procurement activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of project management principles related to cost control, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
