OUNCE OF PREVENTION FUND OF FLORIDA
POSITION TITLE: PROGRAM SPECIALIST – OUNCE OF PREVENTION FUND OF FLORIDA (OPFF)
Our Programs Specialists provide technical assistance and quality assurance for innovative initiative programs funded by OPFF. Programs Specialists support our providers through contract compliance and monitoring program development and implementation, on-site program observation, technical assistance and training, quality assurance reviews, fiscal management, and reporting. The position requires statewide travel and computer proficiency with Microsoft.
The tasks listed below represent much of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks as necessary.
- Conducts visits to assigned project sites to provide on-site technical assistance and ensure quality assurance; prepares and distributes reports with recommendations based on evaluations.
- Monitors program development and compliance with contract and budget; collects and reviews data; evaluates program in relation to established objectives and goals.
- Communicates with program providers in person, via telephone, and by e-mail daily.
- Gathers and maintains information to develop periodic and special reports documenting program activities and outcomes.
- Reviews and analyzes project invoices and other documentation and follows-up with appropriate action as required.
- Research funding issues and develop tracking and monitoring protocol for use of project funds.
- Assists in the development of logic models for program evaluation.
- Reviews and analyzes budget, program, contract and sub-contract amendments and provides input for policy and/or protocol development.
- Performs routine office clerical tasks.
- Attends staff meetings to exchange information; attend in-service training and technical or professional classes, seminars or conferences to improve technical or professional skills; make presentations and plan meetings.
- Completes special projects as directed by supervisor.
Education Requirements: Requires at a minimum a bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in Social Work, Public Health, Social Sciences or a closely related field.
Experience Requirements: Requires a minimum of four years in the social science field.
