About the Role
Osborn Home Care is seeking compassionate and dependable Per Diem Companions to support clients in their homes throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut. This is a non‑medical role focused on providing companionship, supervision, and light household assistance to help clients remain safe, engaged, and comfortable in their daily lives.
No HHA or CNA certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Engage clients in activities such as reading, games, walks, and hobbies
- Offer safety monitoring and general supervision in the home
- Assist with light errands and grocery shopping
- Provide escort assistance to appointments (no medical transport)
- Perform light housekeeping: meal prep, laundry, dishes, tidying
- Encourage independence and support client dignity
- Maintain accurate and timely visit documentation
- Report any client concerns to the care team
Requirements
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Comfortable working with older adults
- Reliable transportation within Fairfield County
- Ability to perform light household tasks
- Ability to pass background and reference checks
- Prior caregiving experience preferred but not required
- Flexible availability for per diem assignments
