Overview of Position
Osborn is seeking an entry level Structural Engineer in our Detroit office location. The ideal candidate would have familiarity with structural engineering concepts and ideas. The candidate would possess a curiosity and interest in learning more about structural engineering.
Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. These teams are comprised of a staff of 350 plus professionals that provide designs for all phases of a wide range of projects. Osborn has specialists in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety, technology engineering, transportation and commissioning. Position Responsibilities:
- Assist Project and Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
- Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
- Preparation of structural integrity and assessment reports.
- Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures.
- Assist in preparation of design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
- Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
- Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- EIT registration, or desire to register as EIT, with goal to become PE.
- Experience with AutoCAD/Revit preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-discipline team with senior engineer supervision.
