Director of Civil Engineering | Florida

Osborn Engineering is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering for our Florida offices. This unique opportunity requires a well-established leader interested in growing and directing an established Site-Civil team in St. Petersburg with an opportunity to expand our footprint across the State of Florida. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead the team while partnering with our strong client base on both public and private sector engineering projects.  This position could be based out of any of our Florida offices including Orlando, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Deerfield Beach and Cape Canaveral.

Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. These teams are comprised of a staff of more than 350 professionals that provide designs for all phases of a wide range of projects. Osborn has specialists in civil, transportation, water resources, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety, technology engineering, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, initiate and implement a business plan and strategy building on the company’s strengths within the industry.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and future clients, understanding their needs, and delivering exceptional service.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the practice’s portfolio and market presence.
• Recruit and retain high performing team members to ensure the firm's continued success and competitiveness in the industry.
• Inspire, motivate, and mentor the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
• Interact and collaborate with other Directors and company leaders across Florida and corporate wide.
• Develop, manage and achieve financial metrics of the group, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
• Monitor and direct project managers to achieve project and financial success overall projects within the group.
• Negotiate contracts, fees, and terms with clients, and other partners to maximize profitability and value.
• Ensure client satisfaction working with team members to achieve Osborn’s high quality design standards.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• 15 years of Civil design experience.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
• Broad civil engineering expertise and an understanding of basic FLA permitting requirements.
• Municipal and other public experience a plus.
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to manage staff and clients.
