Compensation & Incentives

  • Sign-On Bonus / Relocation Assistance: Up to $22,500
  • Weekend Premium Pay: Additional $12.00/hour
  • Night Shift Differential: Additional $4.00/hour

Schedule & Unit Highlights

  • Schedule: Part-Time | 2x12-hour shifts (Friday & Saturday Night, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • On-Call: NO CALL REQUIRED!
  • Patient Ratio: Low 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Facility: 37-bed unit featuring all private rooms

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers compassionate, patient-centered care utilizing the core nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. In this role, you will coordinate and execute individualized care based on clinical protocols and provider orders, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal recovery and outcomes for adult orthopedic patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care following established organizational protocols and clinical standards.
  • Assessment & Documentation: Perform thorough patient assessments, document findings accurately in the EMR, and report changes in patient condition promptly.
  • Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse side effects, and maintain strict adherence to safe administration practices.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and care teams to develop, execute, and evaluate customized patient care plans.
  • Procedure & Emergency Support: Assist providers during bedside procedures and respond appropriately to medical emergencies (CPR, Code Team activities).
  • Equipment & Safety: Monitor and operate specialized medical equipment (IV pumps, telemetry/monitors, oxygen delivery) while adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and infection control standards.
  • Patient Education & Advocacy: Educate patients and family members on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge instructions while advocating for patient rights.
  • Quality & Growth: Engage in unit audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous professional development to maintain clinical competence.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and comply with all facility policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana or Compact/Multi-State RN Licensure required upon start.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred

Skills & Core Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of the nursing process and acute care orthopedic practices.
  • Proficiency in thorough clinical assessments and clear interdisciplinary communication.
  • Confident in medication administration, safety standards, and electronic chart documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in high-volume environments.
