What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records/ Administrative Clerk position at The Orthopaedic Center?
Job Description:
General Summary of Duties: Responsible for managing administrative reception desk, scanning, pulling, logging and filing charts in EHR for medical records.
Supervision Received: Report to Director of Patient Relations
Essential Functions:
1. Keep the Medical Records area neat and straightened at all times.
2. Greet patients or vendors with a welcoming smile.
3. Answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, handle patient or staff requests in a timely manner.
4. File medical records and other information in patient’s charts in proper order following department guidelines.
5. Ensuring records in a chart are never to be removed; they are a part of the permanent patient chart.
6. Locate and send charts as requested by the physician or staff
7. Maintain mail room, sorts office supplies, make new charts and run errands as needed.
8. Attend Meetings as required.
9. Perform other job duties as requested not necessarily related to the job position.
Job Requirements:
The employee must demonstrate current competencies applicable to job position and attend all training meetings as designated, such as customer service training and HIPAA training.
Customer Service: Demonstrates customer service skills as set forth by company policies.
Education: High School degree or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
