What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep position at The Original Pancake House?
Completes all assigned station prep work and sets up cook’s station. Maintains product presentation, quality and cook station standards. Prepares all menu items according to standard recipes, plate presentations and specifications. Maintains state required food safety and sanitation standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares menu items according to standard recipes, plate presentations and specifications in a timely manner.
Completes all assigned prep work.
Sets up work station according to station diagram procedures at all times.
Cleans and sanitizes the work area before, during and after the shift.
Completes assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties.
Practices sanitary and safe food handling.
A participating member of the team by assisting on other stations by stocking, prepping, cooking and cleaning as needed to meet cook times and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work at a rapid pace for an extended period of time.
Must be able to work an agreed upon schedule.
Good memory and ability to multi-task.
Capable of using knives, grill, fryer, oven, mixer, microwave, stove top in a safe and productive manner.
Able to respond to emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.
Neat, well-groomed appearance.
NON-MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Work experience as a cook in a related industry.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Walks, stands, bends, reaches, and lifts on an ongoing and consistent basis.

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Successful completion of a five-day training program.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE REQUIRED: None required.
