Housekeeping Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeping Worker to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across hospitality environments. Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
• Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms
• Adhere strictly to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines and safety protocols during all cleaning activities
• Use proper chemical handling techniques to ensure safe use of cleaning agents while maintaining high sanitation standards
• Conduct floor care procedures such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to preserve surface integrity
• Operate janitorial equipment including vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, and steam cleaners with proper manual handling practices
• Follow healthcare infection prevention and control procedures to minimize cross-contamination risks in medical settings
• Maintain detailed records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, safety inspections, and sanitation logs
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks while practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury
• Support environmental services initiatives aimed at creating a clean and safe environment for all occupants

Skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and chemical handling
• Proven experience in cleaning within healthcare facilities or commercial environments
• Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards
• Ability to handle chemicals safely following proper protocols for sanitation and disinfection
• Skilled in operating various cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects or equipment
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff, patients, guests, or visitors
• Experience with laundry operations including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens or uniforms
• Understanding of floor care techniques such as buffing, stripping, waxing or carpet extraction
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
