Communication Director - The Orchard Church
Position Overview
The Communication Director at The Orchard Church is responsible for developing and implementing effective messaging and communication strategies across all church platforms. This full-time, exempt position involves creating and overseeing promotional and informative materials for both external and internal communications. The role reports directly to the Executive Pastor and Lead Pastor.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Communication
- Proactively develop strategies to clarify and communicate weekly church messaging in partnership with leadership and ministry leaders
- Work collaboratively with all staff to create consistency in messaging and branding
- Develop systems to organize, prioritize, and communicate promotional items
- Lead all efforts related to creation, strategy, and execution of digital and social media channels
Content Creation & Management
- Design and create graphics, art, videos, and promotional materials for church-wide activities
- Oversee all print and digital materials related to promotions
- Manage social media messaging and advertising campaigns
- Create and manage weekly email newsletter and quarterly print newsletter
- Capture "the story" via photo and video content
- Edit and produce videos for church use
Website & Technical Management
- Oversee and maintain the church's website
- Connect Registrations to Kiosks by integrating them into Display Church
- Create signage and direction projects that coordinate with overall communications theme
Team Leadership
- Enlist, equip, and encourage qualified volunteer teams and interns to accomplish communications goals
- Develop and maintain the communications department budget
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor
Qualifications & Requirements
Spiritual

- Passion to use communications to reach others
Education & Experience
- Degree in communications, media, or related field, OR
- 2-4 years' experience in communications
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Understanding of copywriting, graphic design, layout, and publishing
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
- Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
