What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Staff position at The Open Door of New Jersey?
We are seeking a compassionate Direct Care Staffer to provide care and support to adults in our residential homes with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication administration, and personal hygiene
- Provide support and companionship to individuals
- Implement individualized care plans and goals
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Skills:
- Proficiency in working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Knowledge of care practices and principles
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medication administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-At least one years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
-Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid drivers license in good standing

Weekdays 3pm-11pm or 11p-8a
