The One Club for Creativity, a nonprofit organization that exists to celebrate and support the success of the global creative community, seeks a full-time Director for its One Show awards program. For over 50 years, The One Show is the second-largest global awards program for the advertising, digital and design industries.
The One Club seeks a dynamic problem-solver who is interested in and knows the Advertising and Design industries to oversee and promote The One Show, our highest-visibility event of the year.
To succeed in this role, you need to have the following qualifications:
- 7 years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, industry awards or trade industry events
- Experience working with production partners on a large-scale gala event
- Experience with CMS’s and other databases and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to represent and market the awards to partners and potential entrants in the U.S. and overseas
- Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy
- Self-motivated with a proven track record at meeting/exceeding deadlines
- Budget management essential
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
Job Overview
The One Show Director oversees a team of 2 direct reports and collaborates closely with the Director of Awards Systems. In addition, this role oversees 3-4 seasonal coordinators with support from the Awards Teams. This position reports directly to The One Club for Creativity’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
Pre-season
- Analyze data to evaluate current categories
- Research and outreach to increase participation in The One Show
- Actively market to potential and current entrants, interface with awards managers and key decision-makers
- Liaise with Awards Committee comprised of One Club Board Members
- Work with awards team to assemble jury nominations lists for voting
- Help update categories, rankings and other changes to upcoming awards process
- Strategize and develop a comprehensive project schedule to include entry deadlines, communications schedule, judging dates, production and more.
Entry Season
- Work with external partners to create a Call for Entries campaign
- Oversee the hiring and management of seasonal coordinators
- Conduct outreach and set up meetings with key partners and potential entrants, visit and market the awards in the U.S. and abroad
- Assist VIP entrants with entry questions and support.
Judging
- Oversee production elements [tech, staffing, schedule, logistics, etc.] related to the in-person and online judging
- Serve as a key point of contact for the jury
Awards Ceremony
- Research and hire production companies and partners
- Work with production company to manage all awards show logistics
- Manage awards notifications, recipients and presenters
- Work with web team to ensure all online assets are ready with updated credits
Requirements
- Must be able to come into our NYC offices 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs) with remote Mondays and Fridays
- Some weekends required particularly during show production season
- Travel required
- Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without a work Visa
Salary: $100,000- $120,000
