About Us
Art Remedy (Oliver Gal) is a fast-moving wall décor manufacturer seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily execution across key production departments.
About the Role
We are a fast-moving wall décor manufacturer seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily execution across key production departments.
This role supervises production employees and is responsible for production performance, labor coordination, quality, safety, inventory readiness, equipment uptime coordination, schedule execution, communication, and daily operational follow-through.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The right person must be comfortable leading employees on the production floor, holding the team accountable, solving problems, and stepping in when needed to help complete the work. This is not a desk-only supervisor position.
As the role develops, this person may also support broader operational responsibilities, including material tracking, vendor follow-up, freight coordination, production reporting, inventory control, equipment uptime follow-up, and process improvement.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily work across assigned production departments to meet production, quality, safety, labor, and on-time performance goals.
- Lead, direct, and support production employees.
- Adjust workflow and recommend schedule changes based on production volume and business priorities.
- Monitor department KPIs, including productivity, labor efficiency, quality, rework, on-time completion, safety, inventory readiness, equipment uptime, and unplanned downtime.
- Communicate expectations clearly and ensure employees understand priorities, standards, and escalation paths.
- Hold employees accountable to production standards, quality requirements, safety procedures, housekeeping, attendance, and overall performance expectations.
- Step in hands-on when needed to support production, move materials, operate equipment when trained and authorized, or help complete work.
- Maintain clean, organized, safe, and production-ready work areas.
- Monitor inventory needs, including key materials, safety stock levels, seasonal demand changes, and shortage risks.
- Support material planning, purchasing requests, vendor follow-up, freight coordination, and delivery tracking when assigned.
- Coordinate equipment readiness by communicating maintenance needs, tracking runtime, monitoring uptime, and escalating unplanned downtime risks.
- Provide clear daily updates to Manufacturing leadership, including production status, risks, decisions needed, and unresolved issues.
- Support continuous improvement in communication, organization, process discipline, safety culture, quality control, and accountability.
- Perform other related duties as business needs evolve.
Qualifications Required
- Prior experience leading or supervising employees in production, warehouse, assembly, framing, woodworking, manufacturing, or a similar hands-on environment.
- Ability to supervise and direct hourly production employees.
- Strong communication, follow-up, and accountability skills.
- Ability to lead with respect, clarity, urgency, and consistency.
- Strong organization and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with changing daily priorities.
- Willing and able to be hands-on when production needs it.
- Ability to manage quality issues, correct problems, and coach employees when standards are not met.
- Ability to monitor material needs, inventory risks, equipment readiness, safety concerns, and production flow.
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, production systems, basic tracking tools, and AI-enabled tools to support communication, organization, follow-up, and reporting.
- Comfortable with flexible start times based on workload, including early mornings.
- Willingness to work weekends when business needs require it.
Preferred
- Experience leading a team in picture framing, cut/join, woodworking, cabinetmaking, millwork, assembly, custom manufacturing, or similar production work.
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
- Experience in made-to-order, high-mix, or short-lead-time production.
- Experience with inventory management, vendor follow-up, freight coordination, or production scheduling.
- Experience tracking production KPIs, labor performance, rework, downtime, safety issues, or inventory needs.
- Forklift experience or willingness to operate equipment if trained and authorized.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel, Google Sheets, email, ERP, production tracking systems, and AI-enabled tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both production floor and office environments.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout production areas during the workday.
- Must be comfortable working around tools, frames, materials, equipment, moderate noise, dust, and normal manufacturing conditions.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or assist with production materials as needed.
- Must follow all safety requirements and ensure assigned employees do the same.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on production leader who can manage people, production flow, safety, quality, materials, equipment readiness, and daily follow-up without needing constant direction.
