Vinegar Operator

Job Description
The Vinegar Operator is responsible for the production of vinegar. The Operator is accountable for producing and moving liquid mixes in a safe and sanitary manner utilizing pumps, hoses, piping, etc. following the safety specifications identified.
Job Duties
- Review appropriate production schedules for the line to ensure correct equipment setups have been made and appropriate raw material are present for efficient productivity
- Monitor all product in process and or finished to be packed to ensure best quality standards are being met with the control/retains out in the operation.
- Make sure all materials are properly counted, weighed and labeled with correct label information
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of all equipment in the line
- Ensure that all partial pallets, bags, and containers are available and accessible as well as having proper documentation such as part number, weights, expiration dates, etc
- Report to supervisor equipment malfunctions, so that they can ultimately be reported to maintenance
- Monitor adequate housekeeping throughout the day
- Support Product Line Supervisors to investigate, resolve, and document all process related issues
- Identify areas of waste related to utilities, product, and packaging materials and implement projects to reduce these costs
- Review production schedule to determine quantity and type of vinegar to produce.
- Initiate startup, preparing equipment and materials, monitor and shut down each phase of batch operation.
- Make routine field inspections of the tanks, pumps meters, valves, lines and motors to assure that all systems in the process are in working order.
- Receive raw materials, test samples and unload/load liquid bulk shipments.
- Complete production reports
- Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Responsible for food product quality and safety.
- Responsible for flushing, and/or cleaning of tanks, equipment, containers and utensils as required
Preferred qualifications
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collect in-process and finished product samples using proper sampling techniques, including aseptic methods where required.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to verify product meets established specifications (e.g., acidity, alcohol content, clarity).
- Record, analyze, and interpret test results, identifying trends, deviations, or non-conformances.
- Communicate findings to production teams and support timely resolution of quality issues.
- Follow laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain proper documentation of all testing activities.
- Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing, chemical processing, or a similar production environment is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of liquid processing systems, pumps, valves, and sanitary piping.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and equipment such as titrators, spectrophotometers, or alcohol meters.

- Continuous standing, walking and reaching.
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Duties are performed with some exposure to noise, lubricants and chemicals.
- Use calculator, hoist, titrator, agitator, spectrophotometer, personal computer, forklift and common hand tools
