Busser/Server Assistant

Job Overview
The Old Inn on the Green in New Marlborough is seeking a reliable Busser/Server Assistant to support its dining room team. This role is essential for maintaining the pace and flow of service through table resets, running food, clearing plates, and assisting servers during coursed dinner service. Candidates should be attentive, efficient, and team-oriented, with the ability to stay organized in a busy upscale environment.

This position also offers growth potential for those interested in learning the skills to become a server. Evening shifts Wednesday–Sunday, starting at 4pm.

Duties

• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner.
• Assist servers by bussing tables and ensuring they are clean and ready for new guests.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure accurate order delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including clearing dishes and wiping down surfaces.
• Support catering events as needed, ensuring all food items are presented beautifully.
• Handle food items safely and adhere to all food handling regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and requests promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy shifts.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant experience helpful, but not required. Training available for motivated candidates.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment.
• Ability to remain organized and composed under pressure.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Availability for evening shifts Wednesday–Sunday.
• Physical stamina for long periods of standing, carrying trays, and performing repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to learn and grow into serving responsibilities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
