Job Title: Program Director, Anatomical Services & Body Donation Program Department: Medicine | BMEA-Division of Anatomy Program Director plans, directs and leads the administration and operations of the Anatomical Services and Body Donation Program (AS & BDP), a program central to the education of physicians, dentists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and other medical professionals, with anatomical donations used for medical education and training, forensic sciences (pathology, engineering, anthropology, taphonomy), vehicle safety or the development of protective equipment (sports, military, law enforcement); upholds the highest standards of professionalism to ensure donor dignity and anonymity; contributes to the awareness and advocacy of the Body Donor Program; serves as a principal point of collaboration and expertise to both internal and external constituencies on professional and operational matters pertaining to the mission, goals, objectives of the program; participates with the Divisional Director in the development of short- and long-term strategic planning activities; oversees the supervision of staff, including training, evaluating performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; supervises a meticulous record keeping within the program; develops policies, procedures, and systems which ensure productive and efficient operation of the program; oversees and coordinates the fiscal activity of the program, to include participation in development and management of operating budgets; coordinates the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports; stays up to date on local and national legislation associated with body donation; serves as the chair of the Body Donor Program Advisory Committee (BDPAC); collaborates with university departments, programs and/or community organizations to consolidate resources and enhance program; approves or denies the use of any human material through Ohio State; generates quotes and invoices for all internal and external users of human material; assists in the coordination and planning of the annual Memorial Service for donors. Required Qualifications A Master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Licensure as funeral director and embalmer required. Considerable experience in program management, planning and administration required. Teaching experience desirable. . Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen. Additional Information: Location: Hamilton Hall (0038) Position Type: Regular Scheduled Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
