Job Description Clinical research specialist functioning as a senior research nurse in the Division of Human Cancer Genetics; plans, organizes and coordinates care of patients on genetic and/or oncology clinical research protocols; serves as a mentor to new and existing research staff; coordinates collection of research data; provides education; evaluates patients for clinical complications related to protocol and helps direction for protocol compliance; enhances accrual to research protocols; assists in collection and distribution of blood and tissue samples; evaluates patient eligibility; oversees registration of out/inpatients; develops and revises orders; monitors care and insures proper follow-up; evaluates patient response and patient complications; assists in developing plans to meet requirements of new studies/protocols; prepares for external quality assurance and control review. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing or allied medicine professions Additional Education Desired Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in nursing, allied medical professions or other health care field required or equivalent combination of education and experience required; ; current State of Ohio licensure or interim permit required in appropriate field; clinical research certification from SoCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) or ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) required; considerable experience in a clinical research capacity conducting clinical research trials required; considerable experience in providing direct patient care; computer literacy required with knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications desired; oncology experience desired; requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may
