- Observe behaviors for input on treatment planning and report significant changes to clinical staff. Encourage residents to meet specified goals and objectives. Chart client progress daily through residential progress notes.
- Maintain clean environment in the home and follow the shift responsibilities and cleaning schedule assignments.
- Act as a role model to peers, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and the use of coping skills, serving as an advocate, and providing information about peer support in outpatient and settings.
- Perform a wide range of tasks to help peers regain independence within the community and ownership over their own recovery process by using a variety of techniques.
- High school diploma
- Completed state peer support training or willingness to complete such training
- Lived experience in mental illness or substance use
- Able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to work with persons who are experiencing mental health concerns and crisis
