Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients before, during, and after treatment
- Guide patients through the consultation, surgical scheduling, and recovery process
- Provide clear explanations of procedures, expectations, and pre/post-operative instructions
- Address patient concerns with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
- Manage sensitive conversations regarding treatment plans and financial arrangements
Care Coordination
- Coordinate surgical scheduling, referrals, and treatment timelines
- Ensure all necessary documentation, imaging, referrals, and medical clearances are obtained prior to surgery
- Communicate effectively with referring offices and specialists
- Follow up with patients post-operatively to monitor satisfaction and recovery
Insurance & Financial Coordination
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-authorizations when required
- Review treatment estimates with patients and explain financial policies
- Coordinate payment arrangements in accordance with office guidelines
Administrative Excellence
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly and professionally
- Support front office operations when needed
- Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow within the practice
Qualifications
- Preferred experience in a dental, oral surgery, or medical office (OMS experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of dental/medical insurance and treatment coordination
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
