POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
This positions objective is to direct and perform the install of Electronic, Hardware, and Wiring components of Audio Visual systems as directed by management. Successful candidate should have two years of experience in the AV industry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position requires a variety of skills. As an Audio Visual Specialist you will be required to: - Direct the actions of others to complete installations- Install and terminate wiring for audio visual- Install electronic and electrical components into equipment racks and other locations- Install projectors, screens, speakers, and associated control system equipment- Be proficient with a large variety of hand tools- Be proficient with a variety of industrial power tools- Work on ladders at heights in excess of 10ft as well as confined spaces- Work well with others taking direction and constructive criticism- Work under the pressure of deadlines- Focus and perform with a high degree of attention to the details of your job assignment- React and deal positively to job assignment and tasking- Keep a professional and respectful attitude- Problem solve to accomplish difficult job assignments- Report to job locations on time in appropriate work attire- Conduct yourself in a manner that will reflect positively on this company - Have a valid drivers license and good driving record- Have a reliable means of transportation that is suitable for long travel. i.e. >500mi- Work long or unusual hours that include travel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Your task will include moving and/or repositioning large equipment or wiring supplies. You may also be required to steady objects above shoulder height while they are fastened into place by co-workers. Therefore individuals must be able to lift and carry heavy objects of 75 lbs unassisted.
You must have an ability to coordinate and direct the actions of other installers to complete job assignments.
Your tasks will also include construction labor as well as electrical and electronic repair to include: - Troubleshooting audio and video cabling- Terminating cables with the appropriate solder or compression connector- Wiring electronic cabinets and rack per wiring diagrams or verbal instructions- Drilling in drywall, concrete, and cinderblock for the purpose of running wires, installing projectors, projection screens, cameras, and speaker systems- Sanding and paint- Other light construction jobs- Cleaning up job sites and breaking down boxes- Organizing and storing materials
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Your responsibilities in this area will include coordinating, scheduling, and directing one or more installation teams. You will be responsible for the training of new level one and level two installers assisting them in attaining higher certifications. You must also be able to take assigned installation to project closeout independently.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Your work can be in normal comfortable air-conditioned environments, but will also include less comfortable cold or hot construction environments. On rare occasion you will be required to work outdoors or in a suspension rig
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have: - A high school diploma or College Degree a plus- An ability to learn new task quickly- Reliable transportation- A desire to progress in job knowledge and qualifications- An ability to describe and demonstrate simple task to less experience installers- An ability to direct the actions of other- An ability to keep a cool head when placed in stressful situations
