The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of IT Network Administrator (IT Network Administration Specialist).
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Lottery and Gaming (OLG), Information Technology (IT) Department. The incumbent works closely with users and other District agencies in analyzing and defining network systems requirements, implementing solutions, planning and tracking projects, and coordinating inter-agency efforts in the areas of networking, infrastructure, security and inter-operability.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Network Administration Manager with analyzing and defining network systems requirements.
- Configuring and optimizing network servers, firewalls, hubs, routers, and switches.
- Collaborating with OLG staff, supervisors, and other stakeholders to diagnose and resolve network problems.
- Assisting in the installation, testing, maintenance, and upgrading of network operating systems software.
- Applying the agency's policies and procedures in the area of network and infrastructure management. Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of progressive experience in IT network administration, including planning, configuring, implementing, and maintaining networked systems (e.g., local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and telephony systems (voice terminals, VOIP, ACD, and IVR systems)); managing network security, optimizing performance, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and ensuring compliance with information security policies. Experience with technologies such as Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, IDS/IPS devices and monitoring tools like SolarWinds (or similar) is also required. Additional experience with technologies such as Microsoft Visio for network documentation are highly preferred.
