The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is searching for a Business Application Developer (IT Specialist-Application Software)
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The Information Technology Specialist works closely with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and other District government stakeholders in conducting work that involves design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and refine system requirements and translating requirements into applications
- Participate on project teams to establish business requirements for agency systems and provide technical solutions
- Plan and coordinate the installation, configuration, testing, and ongoing maintenance of business applications
- Plan and design systems architecture, user interfaces and applications architecture
- Develop and evaluate test data to validate program modifications. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of progressive experience performing the related duties and responsibilities related to expertise in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of application software; production support of enterprise applications; translating business requirements into technical solutions; and the ability to interact with various stakeholders; knowledge of at-least one or more programming languages but not limited to .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, and Entity Framework. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; and experience with the Microsoft Power Platform suite, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
