Job Summary
The Office of Charles de Lisle is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our Sausalito office. The Junior Interior Designer’s role is to provide design, production, and coordination support through all phases of projects and will work on both design and project administration tasks with a high-level of production. The Junior Interior Designer will work closely with the Principal, Senior Designer, and design team to execute high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality design projects with a focus on FF&E.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively across multiple design projects through all design phases.
Manage specific work streams end to end within each project.
Develop design concepts, reference images, mood boards, and material palettes to communicate design intent.
Develop drawing and specification packages, and produce documentation as needed in schematic design, design development, and construction documentation phases.
Coordinate with design team to produce plans, elevations, and details in order to ensure design intent is incorporated into documentation packages.
Create and manage furniture plans, elevations, and details in AutoCAD.
Assist with FF&E procurement, scheduling, and tracking.
Participate in project coordination, construction administration, site visits, and maintain quality control during construction as needed.
Collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain relationships with existing vendors and fabricators and explore opportunities for new partnerships with makers, designers, dealers, galleries, and distributors.
Requirements
A degree in Interior Design or Architecture
A minimum of 4 years of professional interior design experience in the design industry
Excellent oral and written skills
Familiarity with FF&E and interior architecture standards
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Software Proficiencies
High proficiency in AutoCAD
High proficiency in Adobe Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
Developed presentation skills – verbal, written, and graphic
SketchUp
Familiarity with Studio Designer software or similar
Microsoft Suite
