Concierge Job Description:
1) Appearance: People judge others by their appearance; therefore a security uniform, no matter how clean and neat, will only look neat on a well-groomed person. Concierge must be clean shaven, keep hair trimmed and neat, have good hygiene, and keep the uniform in excellent condition. Concierge is responsible to keep uniform cleaned and pressed. Complete uniform must be worn at all times: Shirt, Tie, Trousers and Jacket. Shoes must be black, smooth finish, and polished.
2) The Concierge is required to report promptly and timely, each day on duty, to take charge of the specified assignment. Concierge will remain on duty for a full 8-hours shift, or until properly relieved in the event of an emergency. Concierge personnel must NOT read, smoke, eat or drink while on duty at the post. He or she must be properly relieved to take a break. Personal phone calls are prohibited.
3) Concierge must monitor lobby traffic and must discourage and residents or employees from congregating around the Concierge Desk.
4) Concierge must be kind and courteous to all Residents and their guests.
5) Concierge Desk is NEVER to be left unattended.
6) Visitors:
a) All Visitors should be recorded in the “Visitor’s Register Log” with all the required information. The appropriate unit needs to be contacted to approve permission for the visitor to gain access to the unit.
b) If the appropriate party cannot be contacted, the visiting party must wait within sight of the Concierge until necessary permission is obtained and granted. DO NOT ask the Visitor for the resident’s phone #. Use the Phone # List provided by the Office.
c) NO Resident or Visitor can enter the Lobby without shirt AND shoes.
7) Lock-Out Procedures:
a) Under no circumstances is a Concierge or Lobby Officer allowed to enter a unit without authorization from the Property Manager or the Resident.
b) Must always be accompanied by another Officer or Maintenance personnel.
c) Only for cases of Emergencies.
8) Move-ins/outs: No Move-ins/outs or deliveries will be allowed on weekends and/or holidays. Monday - Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm ONLY. Concierge will be given confirmation of the move-in/out reservation from the Management Office.
9) Emergencies:
a) Medical - if a medical emergency call comes into the Concierge desk, record the following on an Incident Report: name, telephone #, date/time, complaint/problem, and ALWAYS ask if they would like us to call Fire Rescue (911). If “Yes”, call 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY, then alert the Lobby Officer and Valet on duty to the emergency.
b) Mechanical, Flood, etc. - be familiar with and know how to locate and turn-off the shut-off valves for each of the individual units and common area equipment rooms.
c) Fire Alarm - it is the responsibility of the Concierge to monitor the fire alarms of the buildings and determine when an emergency exists. When any alarm goes off, the Concierge must alert the Lobby Officer immediately. If someone calls reporting smoke or odor, Concierge will alert Lobby Officer to investigate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Conciege must maintain a professional appearance and keep the uniform in excellent condition.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write daily reports, correspondence, and/or other type of reports.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
EDUCATION:
- High School or equivalent education (required)
- One year certificate from college or technical school (preferred)
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish (preferred)
- Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
