The Purpose of Your Role

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for building and sustaining meaningful connections between OCD Anxiety Centers and the communities we serve — locally and nationally. This is a relationship-first role with a public-facing, national presence. You will bridge our alumni program with broader community outreach, turning former clients into advocates, amplifying our mission through storytelling and events, and deepening our reach among individuals and families affected by Anxiety, Trauma, and OCD.

You will be the face of our brand in the community, working closely with the Marketing Director to ensure every touchpoint — from a virtual support group to a national awareness campaign — reflects our values and drives both engagement and admissions. This role supports programs across all OCD Anxiety Centers locations and requires flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work, scheduled in advance.

Success Indicators/KPIs

  • >100 individual alumni actively participating in the program on a monthly basis

  • >2 virtual support meetings held per week, with consistent growth in attendance over time (separate groups for alumni and the general public)

  • 10 monthly readmissions attributed to alumni engagement and community outreach

  • 1 active ambassador per market, with growth in public appearances, stories shared, and advocacy activities

  • >20 participants in each weekly public support group

Upon achieving these key performance indicators, your supervisor will meet with you to review progress and collaborate on establishing new performance goals that reflect continued growth and excellence.

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and sustain relationships with diverse audiences

  • Deep understanding of behavioral health, including OCD, anxiety, trauma, and relapse prevention

  • Strong event planning and community organizing skills

  • Experience managing volunteers, advocates, or ambassador programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences

  • Comfort with sensitive conversations, including crisis awareness and appropriate escalation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data tracking tools

  • Experience with virtual meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, etc.)

Core Responsibilities

  • Alumni Engagement

    • Manage and grow the alumni program, maintaining consistent outreach and re-engagement strategies for former clients and their families

    • Develop and maintain an Alumni Portal in collaboration with the digital marketing team, serving as a living resource for former clients and families

    • Actively and sensitively encourage alumni return for treatment when clinically appropriate

  • Advocacy & Ambassador Program

    • Recruit, train, and manage a roster of alumni advocates across the country willing to share their stories publicly through social media, events, press, and organizational initiatives

    • Maintain one active ambassador per market, with clear communication and consistent support throughout their engagement

    • Partner with the Marketing Director to integrate advocate stories into broader campaigns and media outreach

  • Content & Storytelling

    • Develop written and multimedia content for support meetings, the alumni portal, email communications, and social media — in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist and Marketing Director

    • Gather and shape alumni stories for use in testimonials, press releases, and awareness campaigns, always ensuring informed consent and client dignity

    • Contribute to the organization's broader content calendar with alumni stories and engagement highlights

  • Reporting & Collaboration

    • Track participation, engagement trends, and outcomes in structured reports shared regularly with the Marketing Director

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Admissions, Clinical, and Marketing teams to align community engagement with organizational goals
