Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary News Anchor to join the founding team of Project Trumpets. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Baltimore, MD. As a News Anchor, you’ll be responsible for reporting, scripting, and delivering broadcast-quality news content that inspires, informs, and mobilizes audiences worldwide.
You’ll collaborate with a growing broadcast journalism team and work closely with producers and field reporters to deliver sharp, impactful newscasts. The ideal candidate is as comfortable behind the desk as they are in the field—passionate about people, driven by purpose, and excellent under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver live and recorded news segments with clarity, confidence, and editorial integrity
- Research, pitch, and develop news stories with a global and US-relevant focus
- Write and edit scripts for daily broadcasts and special reports
- Interview guests and coordinate with field reporters
- Represent Project Trumpets with professionalism in live and digital settings
Qualifications
- Proven experience in broadcast journalism, with strong reporting and scriptwriting skills
- A clear, engaging, and confident on-air presence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and deadline-driven
- Current student of or recent Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred
- Must be based in the Washington-DC metro area (including Baltimore and surrounding counties)
