We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning
- Assist in menu planning and ensure adherence to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, poaching stations, braising units, and food production machinery safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Support high-volume food production during peak hours while maintaining quality standards
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Assist with food plating, garnishing, and final presentation for service
- Support the culinary team with additional tasks such as catering preparation or special event setups as needed
- Ensure all food safety management practices are followed consistently
Requirements
- Previous dietary aide experience or culinary background preferred; experience in fine dining or high-volume production is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations
- Proficiency in cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal preparation
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with recipe adherence for consistent quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume production demands
- Knowledge of menu planning, food industry standards, and catering experience is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
